Determine how many wattage you need AND find out what kind of car you have

The figure below gives you an estimated figure of how many wattage you may need. Different models may vary, please make sure you read the nameplates or power tags before choosing a power inverter.

Be careful when some appliances and tools may require from 3 to 7 times the running wattage when starting, such as refrigerator and air conditioner.

Most cars run 12 volt power system,then you should choose a 12 volt power inverter if you are going to use with a cigarette lighter or a car battery. Otherwise, choose a 24 volt inverter.

Determine what kind of AC you need

Basically, there are two kinds of AC, modified sine wave and pure sine wave. If you are using some delicate medical equipment like oxygen concentrator and nebulizer, etc. be sure that you are using pure-sine-wave output power inverter. Otherwise, modified sine wave make not much different.

Batteries 150W/300W
Solar panel or other DC generator:150W/300W or more

CABLE

Simple math, if you have a DC 12V car and lighter fuse is 15 amps, the maximum wattage is 12x15=180W, for the sake of safety you want to use something below 150W, Then:For overall wattage below 150W you could use Car Cigarette Plug to connect a corresponding inverter;

For larger wattage usage you could choose battery clamp and connect the inverter to the car battery, solar panel or other DC generator directly.
